What an amazing evening in the Home of Good Neighbors!

The National Good Neighbor Day celebration hosted by GCA’s Welcome Committee was filled with laughter, family, friendship, and community spirit as neighbors gathered in Ramsay Park for Movie in the Park featuring the timeless classic The Wiz!

Neighbors and friends from Grandmont and Surrounding Communities arrived with their families, lawn chairs, blankets, smiles, and plenty of excitement. Together, we enjoyed a magical movie under the stars, along with complimentary snacks and beverages, and the priceless joy of spending time together as one.

Thanks a Million to everyone who helped Sue and Emily to bring this event and our vision to life! Whether you made telephone calls, sent texts and emails, went door-to-door, distributed flyers, helped with setup or cleanup, volunteered during the event, or attended with your family and friends, you helped make this wonderful evening possible.

We extend a heartfelt thank-you to Yolanda B and our dedicated Street/Block Captains, always ready to jump in and help us spread the word throughout Grandmont.

Special appreciation also goes to:

  • Carey Morgan: generously providing electricity & set-up
  • Tony Hood: set-up/breakdown
  • Vicki Holmes of Minock Park: loaning GCA the movie projector
  • Waste Management: graciously donating two portable restrooms
  • Andrea H, Dani S, Marcus J: always stepping forward to help wherever needed
  • Every neighbor, friend, family member, community partner who supported and attended

Seeing our park filled with neighbors enjoying a classic movie together was a beautiful reminder of what makes Grandmont such a special place to call home. This was truly the spirit of National Good Neighbor Day in action!

Be On the Lookout (BOLO) for New Neighbors!

Let’s keep that welcoming spirit going throughout the year!

When someone new moves onto your block, please greet them in true Home of Good Neighbors style. Introduce yourself, offer a warm welcome, and with their permission, collect their name, address, telephone number, and email address.

Please share the new-neighbor information by group text with:
