On Saturday, November 23rd, members of the GCAYE and Grandmont Community participated in The Big Sort, hosted by Mittens for Detroit (MFD), where they counted, sorted, and packed the hats and gloves and mittens collected during the Hat & Glove collection event and the Hat & Glove Collection Drive for distribution to the students at Edison Elementary School. Mittens for Detroit Executive Director, Wendy Shepherd, was presented a certificate of appreciation on behalf of the Grandmont Community Association Youth & Education Committee for their generosity and continued support of the Grandmont Community.
Your donation of hats, gloves and mittens have helped the Grandmont Community Association Youth & Education reach our goal of providing of essential items for warmth this winter to students in need. These items will be delivered to Edison Elementary School before the Thanksgiving holiday.
