A Message from the Youth & Education committee
Congratulations to Grant Johnson who was recently recognized by Detroit City Council President Pro Tem James Tate at the recent D1 Monthly Meeting as an Outstanding Teen in our District. Those in attendance, at the District 1 meeting, were treated to an interview video spotlight by one of Grant’s teachers and heard from Grant in his own words as he touched on going to school during the pandemic, future aspirations and giving back to his community.
He is a member of the Cass Tech Varsity Boys Soccer Team, a participant in the Midnight Golf Program, a member of Boys Scout Troop 123 and currently working on his Eagle Scout project and a graduating Senior from Cass Technical High School with plans to attend Florida A&M University in the Fall.
Grant is the son of longtime residents of the Grandmont Community, Kevin and Sonja Johnson. Grant’s family, mentors and members of the Grandmont Community were at the meeting, in person and on Zoom, to provide words of encouragement and show their support.
