April 2024 GCA Board Meeting Recap
In the week before the Annual Meeting, the Grandmont Board met to discuss monthly business.
Grandmont’s new Garden Club Chair is Lorena Rashid, who is a longtime member of the committee.
Leading into the Annual meeting, the membership numbers for 2024 are at about 110 households. Our goal for 2024 is at least 300 memberships!
Some discussion was had around the treasury and looking into having a savings account with better interest rates and other ways to get revenue or fundraise outside of membership dues.
Cora Duncan-Foster shared that Susan Hood will be joining the Rippling Hope board. The Scholarship Committee is also seeking another grant for scholarship funds as well as working on refining the application.
Krystal Thurmond, Yolanda Burnett and Jenise Collins shared regarding the work being done to make sure that the Annual Meeting and the Youth and Education’s Youth and Community Expo would be a success!
The major change voted on during new business was to have the Grandmonitor only printed for May, September, and December in 2024. The Grandmonitor will be printed less and be more of a “review” of events and past and we will shift to using an e-blast newsletter.
