On Friday, November 24, 2023 at Christ the King Catholic Church’s Koezler Hall, 20800 Grand River Ave., a festive reception was celebrated in their honor with family, friends, and the Grandmont Community. The honorees were interviewed by a panel which included: GCA Board of Directors, Scholarship Committee members, and additional Committee Chairs. At the reception, our honorees presented their future goals and essay. They were asked questions and received words of encouragement from the audience.
The honorees demonstrated excellent oral presentational skills; projected self-confidence, authority and enthusiasm; and displayed a higher degree of professional excellence. Their every word assured us that we made the right selection and that the Grandmont Scholarship is a resource that lends to the future leaders of our community, city and state. In addition to the certificates, the honorees received a $2,000 check for their university or college payment.
Jalen Willis attends Henry Ford Early College; Aniya Floyd attends Central State University; Lauryn Miller attends Grand Valley State University; and, Kaleb Booker attends Alabama Agricultural and Mechanical University.
